Vietnamese pepper export earnings surge 39% despite lower volume
★ Vietnam exported a total of 98,600 tonnes of pepper in the first five months of 2025, earning US $684.4 million.
★ In terms of volume, this represents a 13.6% decline, but export revenue increased by 39.2% year-on-year.
★ The average export price of pepper stood at US $6,937.4 per tonne, up 61.1% compared to the same period last year.
★ The average price for black pepper ranged between US $6,300 and US $6,400 per tonne, while white pepper was priced at US $9,300 per tonne.
★ In the month of May alone, Vietnam exported 25,000 tonnes of pepper.
Key export markets:
United States: 26.1%
Germany: 9.7%
India: 8.1%
★ Export value to Germany rose by 87.8%, India by 84.1%, and the US by 32.4% year-on-year.
