Violation of SAFTA Rules: Large Consignment of Walnuts Seized
★ The customs department seized a consignment of 46 containers containing walnuts.
★ The walnuts were originally from China, but their origin was falsely declared as Afghanistan.
★ Under SAFTA rules, these walnuts were being imported at 0% duty. Now, in order to clear the consignment, a 100% customs duty will have to be paid.
