Volatility in International Markets of Pigeon Peas and Desi Chickpeas (Offer Prices on CNF Basis)
★ International prices of pigeon peas witnessed some notable declines on key export routes this week.
★ Shipments of pigeon peas from Tanzania to India for July/August are now quoted at USD 680 per metric ton, down USD 10 or 1% from the previous week. Similarly, offers from Mozambique to India dropped by USD 5 to USD 575 per ton.
★ Red pigeon peas from Malawi to India also declined by USD 10, now priced at USD 540 per ton. Only the lemon-type pigeon peas from Myanmar remained steady at USD 735 per ton.
★ Compared to the 4-week average, prices for most varieties are down by up to 2%, indicating continued weakness in the market.

Desi Chickpeas Prices Remain Stable
★ Prices for desi chickpeas from Australia to India, Bangladesh, and other destinations remained stable this week. The offer for August/September shipments to India stayed at USD 700 per metric ton, unchanged from last week.
★ However, desi chickpeas from Tanzania to Pakistan saw a drop of USD 10, now offered at USD 650 per ton—a 2% decline.
★ Compared to the 4-week average, prices in most destinations are 1% to 3% lower, reflecting a cautious sentiment among buyers.
