Watermelon Seeds Mandi Price Update (April 2025)
Jodhpur Mandi:
★ Prices of the 7 Star Sudan variety started at Rs. 445–Rs. 460/kg at the beginning of April, dropped to Rs. 430–Rs. 435/kg by mid-month, and surged to Rs. 460–Rs. 480/kg by the end of the month.
★ Prices of the 5 Star Indian variety initially fell from Rs. 438/kg to Rs. 407/kg but recovered to Rs. 445/kg in the final week.
Delhi Mandi:
★ The average price started at Rs. 470/kg, slipping to Rs. 440/kg by mid-April.
★ Increased demand in the last week pushed prices up to Rs. 490/kg by April 24.
★ In April, the watermelon seeds market witnessed a slow start but experienced strong bullish momentum towards the end.
★ The government decided not to allow the import of watermelon seeds under the Open General License (OGL) to protect farmers' interests.
★ Following this decision, prices surged by Rs. 30–Rs. 35 per kg today.
