Prices Continue to Fall, Demand Weak Even During the Festive Season

New Delhi. Chickpea prices continue to decline. Market demand remains weak, and prices remain under pressure due to a lack of demand. Despite the start of the festive season, there hasn't been a significant increase in chickpea consumption, leading to disappointment among traders. Furthermore, cheap forward deals for chickpea from Australia are further pressuring the domestic market. Market analysts say that demand will not strengthen until then, and a price rise is unlikely. Furthermore, good domestic stock availability is also keeping prices low. Due to continued sluggish demand, Delhi chickpea prices declined by Rs. 200 per quintal this week, with prices ending the week at Rs. 5650/5675 for Madhya Pradesh and Rs. 5700/5725 for Rajasthan.
