Lentil prices remain stable due to muted buying

Mumbai. During the current week, there was stability in the prices of lentils. According to market sources, no significant increase was seen in lentils due to weak demand. There has also not been an expected improvement in the consumption of lentil dal, due to which the buying of dal millers remains in a limited range. Pressure is being seen on lentil prices due to weak lifting by the millers. The business class believes that until the consumer demand does not increase in the market, there is little possibility of improvement in lentil prices. Due to weak demand, imported lentil prices saw a decline of Rs 50 per quintal this week and over the weekend the price remained Mundra Rs 5900, Hazira Rs 6000 and container Canada Rs 6150 and Australia Rs 6100/6150 per quintal. While no increase or decrease was seen in the prices of Kolkata lentil this week and at the weekend the prices remained at Canada 6075 Rupees and Australia 6125 Rupees per quintal.
Delhi
Due to sluggish buying by dal millers and stockists, no movement was seen in the prices of Delhi lentil this week and at the weekend the prices remained stable at Choti Kota 6625 Rupees, Bundi 6875 Rupees, Uttar Pradesh 7025 Rupees and Desi Badi 6625 Rupees per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to sluggish buying by stockists and dal millers, prices of Madhya Pradesh lentils registered a rise and fall of Rs. 25/50 per quintal this week too and the prices at the weekend remained at Ashoknagar Rs. 6000/6100, Bina Rs. 6000/6200, Sagar Rs. 5800/6250, Damoh Rs. 6000/6600, Indore Rs. 5950/6000, Kareli Rs. 5355/6370 and Katni Rs. 6600 per quintal.
Uttar Pradesh
Due to increase in selling and slow buying, no increase or decrease was seen in the prices of lentils in Uttar Pradesh during the current week and the prices remained stable at Bareilly Chhoti 7000/7050 rupees, Moti 6600/6625 rupees, Kanpur 6525/6550 rupees, Lalitpur Moti 6100/6200 rupees, Chhoti 6400/6500 rupees and Orai 5700/6100 rupees per quintal at weekends.
Others
Due to improvement in demand, Bihar lentil prices saw an increase of 100 rupees per quintal this week and with this increase, the prices remained stable at Barh 6500 rupees, Khusrupur 6400 rupees and Mokama 6500 rupees per quintal at weekends. While no movement was seen in the prices of Raipur lentils this week and the prices remained stable at 6275/6300 rupees per quintal at weekends. Masoor Dal
Due to sluggish demand, no rise or fall was seen in the prices of Masoor Dal during the current week and the prices remained at Rs. 7500/7600 in Indore, Rs. 7300/7600 in Barh and Rs. 7200/7500 in Khusrupur per quintal at the weekend.
