Moong prices rise due to strong demand
New Delhi. Due to continuous rain in the moong producing areas, the arrival of moong crop in Rajasthan has been delayed and the crop is also getting damaged. In view of the damage to the crop, the buying of stockists and dal millers remained strong, due to which the prices of moong remained bullish during the current week. Due to increased buying by dal millers, Delhi moong prices saw an increase of Rs 150/250 per quintal this week and the price reached Rs 8400/88850 per quintal at the weekend.
Rajasthan
Due to rain in the producing areas, the arrival of moong crop in Rajasthan was delayed by 15/20 days. Due to weakening of selling and increase in buying, the prices of moong in the markets of Rajasthan witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Jodhpur Rs. 6300/7800, Jaipur Rs. 7400/8700, Sumerpur Rs. 7000/8000, Nagaur Rs. 7000/8100 and Kishangarh Rs. 7000/8000 per quintal.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to continued buying, the prices of moong in Madhya Pradesh witnessed an improvement of Rs. 50/100 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Pipariya Rs. 6500/8600, Indore Rs. 8000/8400, Kareli Rs. 5500/8450 and Jabalpur Rs. 6500/8100 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to better buying of new moong by dal millers and stockists, prices of Karnataka moong increased by Rs. 100/200 per quintal this week and at the end of the week the prices became Gulbarga Rs. 4500/8400, Bidar Rs. 7189/9361, Hubli Rs. 6989/8261, Yadgir Rs. 7382/8610 and Gadag Rs. 7437/9258 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to increased demand from stockists and dal millers, Maharashtra moong prices have increased by Rs. 150/300 per quintal during the current week and at the end of the week, the prices became Rs. 7000/8700 for Latur, Rs. 7400/10100 for Akola, Rs. 7000/8500 for Barshi, Rs. 6500/8500 for Ahmednagar and Rs. 7200/8400 per quintal for Dudhani.
Others
Due to support of all round uptrend and better buying, Lalitpur moong prices have increased by Rs. 300 per quintal during this week and with this increase, the price has reached Rs. 7000/8000 per quintal at the end of the week.
Moong Dal
Due to bullish support and improvement in demand of Moong, prices of Moong Dal witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend became Delhi Rs. 10500/13100, Jodhpur Rs. 10100/10400, Jaipur Rs. 10300, Bhatapara Rs. 10600, Jalgaon Rs. 10700 and Indore Rs. 9600/10500 per quintal.
