Buyers of moong remain calm due to increased availability
New Delhi. Due to increased arrival of moong in the major producing markets of the country and weak demand, the prices of moong witnessed a downward trend during the current week. However, the situation changed somewhat at the end of the week, when the Madhya Pradesh government announced the purchase of summer moong at the minimum support price (MSP). Registration of farmers under this scheme will start from June 19. After the announcement of government purchase, the activity of stockists and traders increased, due to which partial improvement was seen in the prices of moong. Market experts believe that if government procurement starts smoothly, then prices may get further support. At present, the eyes of the market are fixed on the start of procurement at MSP and possible improvement in demand.
