Market fluctuation due to strong arrival of new goods and government purchase
New Delhi. Along with the arrival of new mustard goods in the markets of major producing states, its government and commercial purchase is also continuing. As a result, during the week of 19-25 April, the price of mustard was seen to be high in some markets and soft in some other markets.
42% condition mustard
The price of 42 percent condition mustard remained stable at Rs 6100 per quintal in Delhi, while in Jaipur it improved by Rs 25 and reached Rs 6325/6350 per quintal. Due to good arrival and weak lifting, the price of general category mustard came down by Rs 200 per quintal in Deesa and Dhanera Mandi of Gujarat and there was a decline of up to Rs 100 in Haryana as well. But in Madhya Pradesh also, the price improved by Rs 125 in the markets of Hapur and Agra, but there was a decline of Rs 150 per quintal in Kolkata.
Rajasthan
The most important producer state- Generally, mustard prices in Rajasthan witnessed a rise of 50-100 rupees, but in Kota and Bikaner, the price fell by 100 rupees. This time the minimum support price (MSP) of mustard has been increased by 300 rupees from 5630 rupees per quintal to 5950 rupees per quintal, while the wholesale market price of normal average quality goods has come down to a little below this. As a result, the government agency may have to buy it in large quantities. The focus of traders and millers is focused on government procurement. In the last Rabi season, about 20 lakh tons of mustard was purchased by the government.
Arrival
In the markets of major producing states, 5.50 lakh bags of mustard arrived on 19th April, 7.50 lakh bags on 21st April, 7.25 lakh bags on 22nd April, 7-7 lakh bags on 23-24th April and 6.75 lakh bags on 25th April. While each bag is of 50 kg.
Mustard oil
Due to fluctuations in the price of mustard, the price of mustard oil also registered a slight increase or decrease. The price of expeller improved by 5 rupees in Delhi and reached 1290 rupees per 10 kg. Similarly, in Charkhi Dadri, it increased by 10 rupees to 1295 rupees per 10 kg, but in Bikaner, the price fell by 20 rupees to 1230 rupees per 10 kg.
