Improvement in mustard prices due to government procurement
New Delhi. According to rough estimates, during the month of April, about 9 lakh tonnes of mustard was procured by government agencies from farmers at the minimum support price (MSP) of Rs 5950 per quintal, while about 50 thousand tonnes were procured in March. Crushers-processors and traders / stockists are also procuring mustard in good quantities. As a result, during the week from April 26 to May 2, the price of mustard in major producers improved by Rs 50 to Rs 100 per quintal.
42% condition mustard
The price of 42 percent condition mustard improved by Rs 25 to Rs 6125 per quintal in Delhi and increased by Rs 75 in Jaipur to reach Rs 6300/6325 per quintal. Gujarat's Deesa market was up by Rs 100, while some mandis in Haryana increased by Rs 25-45. In Madhya Pradesh, the price of mustard remained stable at the old level. In Bundi Mandi of Rajasthan, the price of mustard fell by Rs. 300 to Rs. 5600/5800 per quintal, but in other mandis, the price rose by Rs. 50 to Rs. 130 per quintal. In Hapur, Uttar Pradesh, the price of mustard improved by Rs. 50 and in Agra by Rs. 25 / In Kolkata also, the price improved by Rs. 50.
Mustard Oil
Due to limited increase in the prices of mustard, the price of mustard oil also improved a bit. The price of expeller improved by Rs. 5 to Rs. 1290 per 10 kg in Delhi, increased by Rs. 12 to Rs. 1297 in Charkhi Dadri, improved by Rs. 100 to Rs. 1310 in Morena and increased by Rs. 12 to Rs. 1286 per 10 kg in Kota. The price of Kachi Ghani mustard oil also improved by 10-15 rupees, but its price in Ganga Nagar Agra fell by 10-10 rupees. There is news of improvement in prices by 10 rupees in Bharatpur.
Arrival
Arrival of mustard was seen less than the normal level in the markets of major producing states. It is understood that the producers are unloading more goods at government purchase centers because it is being purchased there at the support price. According to the data received, 5.50 lakh bags of mustard arrived in wholesale markets on April 26, 6.25 lakh bags on April 28 and 5.25 lakh bags on April 29, while its quantity was recorded at 4.25 lakh bags on April 30, 3.50 lakh bags on May 1 and 4.50 lakh bags on May 2. Each bag is of 50 kg.
