Peanuts soften due to lack of purchases as per supply
New Delhi. In the markets of Rajkot in Gujarat and Jhansi, Mahoba and Mauranipur in Uttar Pradesh, prices softened due to weak demand amid normal arrival of peanuts. In Rajkot, 10-20 thousand bags of peanuts were supplied daily and the price at the highest level fell from Rs 9000 to Rs 8000 per quintal, while the price at the lowest level remained stable at Rs 6000 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to better business in Solapur, Maharashtra, the price increased by Rs 150 to Rs 4750 per quintal, but due to weak buying in Mahoba, Uttar Pradesh, the price fell by Rs 400 to Rs 4400/4600 per quintal. In Jhansi too, the price fell by Rs 200 to Rs 4400/4800 per quintal.
Peanut seeds
As far as peeled peanut seeds are concerned, the buying by millers and exporters was limited, due to which the prices remained calm in many markets. But in Jaipur, the price of many 60/70 counts improved by Rs 100 to Rs 7500/7600 per quintal. In Nagpur too, its price improved by Rs 100 to Rs 9800 per quintal. There was not much fluctuation in other markets. This time NAFED purchased a record amount of peanuts from farmers at the minimum support price of Rs 6783 per quintal and now its sale has also been started in Rajasthan.
Peanut oil
The price of peanut oil fell by Rs 25 to Rs 1300 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh and Jamnagar of Gujarat. There was a softening of prices in other states as well. The price of branded peanut oil remained almost stable as there was no significant business in it. Filtered oil declined by Rs 50 in Jaipur and Newai. Price of groundnut oil cake increased by Rs 9000 to Rs 23000/32000 per tonne in Bikaner.

Groundnut DOC witnessed demand from feed millers due to which the price fell by Rs 500 per tonne.
