Demand weak in UP markets - prices high in Rajkot
New Delhi. Almost normal arrival of peanuts is happening in UP markets but due to weak demand from buyers, its prices fell by 200-300 rupees per quintal during the week of 7-13 June.
Jhansi
The price of peanuts in Jhansi fell by 300 rupees to 4400/4800 rupees per quintal, in Mahoba it fell by 200 rupees to 4600/5000 rupees per quintal and in Mauranipur it fell by 350 rupees to 4000/4500 rupees per quintal.
Gujarat
On the other hand, the price of peanuts in Rajkot, Gujarat jumped by 750 rupees to 6750 rupees per quintal and in Bikaner, Rajasthan it improved by 50 rupees to 5250 rupees per quintal.
Arrival
Daily arrival of groundnut was between 4000/8000 bags in Rajkot, 1100/1250 bags in Jhansi, 1100/1250 bags in Mahoba and 1250/2750 bags in Mauranipur.
Uttar Pradesh
In Uttar Pradesh, it has been decided to purchase 50,750 tonnes of Zaid period groundnut from farmers at the minimum support price of Rs 6783 per quintal and its approval has also been received from the Central Government.
Groundnut seeds
Low business was seen in shellless groundnut seeds due to which the prices generally remained stable but the price of 40/50 count and 50/60 count seeds decreased by Rs 200 each to Rs 7500 and Rs 8000 per quintal respectively. In Nagpur, the price of 50/60 count fell by Rs. 100 but the price of 60/70 count rose by Rs. 100. Its price remained almost stable in other centers.
Groundnut oil
The price of groundnut oil in loose form improved by Rs. 25 to Rs. 1350 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh and Jamnagar of Gujarat, while in other centers it registered an improvement of Rs. 5-10 per 10 kg. In Kota, Rajasthan, there was some trading in branded groundnut oil, due to which the price improved by Rs. 25 to Rs. 2350 per tin (15 kg). On the other hand, the price of filtered groundnut oil declined by Rs. 20 to Rs. 50. The business in groundnut oil cake and DOC remained weak.
