New Delhi. The arrival of peanuts is decreasing in the major markets of Gujarat, Rajasthan, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh, but due to weak business demand, prices are either stable or limited ups and downs.

There was a mixed trend in the markets of Uttar Pradesh. There the price of peanuts in Jhansi and Mahoba improved by Rs 100 each to reach Rs 4400/5000 per quintal and Rs 4500/5100 per quintal respectively, while in Mauranipur it fell by Rs 50 to Rs 4400/4800 per quintal. 2-2 thousand bags of peanuts arrived in Jhansi on 7th and 9th July, while 550-650 bags were supplied in Mahoba and 750 bags were supplied in Mauranipur market. Arrival of peanuts was seen to be irregular. Groundnut Seeds

The prices of shelled groundnuts remained stable to a great extent due to less than normal demand from oil millers and exporters, but in Bikaner, the price of 60/70 count seeds fell by Rs. 400 to Rs. 8200 per quintal and in Nagpur, the price of 50/60 count and 60/70 count seeds fell by Rs. 100 each to Rs. 10300 per quintal and Rs. 9600 per quintal respectively.

The business of groundnuts in loose form improved a bit, due to which its price improved by Rs. 25 to Rs. 1400 per 10 kg in Rajkot, Gondal, Junagadh and Jamnagar of Gujarat. In Ahmedabad too, it improved by Rs. 10 to reach Rs. 1350/1360 per 10 kg. Apart from this, the prices of groundnut oil also increased by Rs. 10 to Rs. 25 in Bikaner, Tonk, Chennai and Hyderabad. Branded groundnut oil remained stable at Rs 2350 per tin (15 kg) in Kota while filtered oil softened by Rs 35 in Jaipur.
