Pea prices improve due to weak selling
Kanpur. Pea prices improved during the current week due to weak selling at low prices and improved demand. Due to the start of pea futures, selling in Desi peas remained weak this week, which supported the rising prices. According to special information, 27,731 tonnes of peas were imported in September, which can be said to be the lowest import in any month after December. Pea sowing will also start soon. Looking at the existing foreign stock and import, it will not have much impact whether sowing decreases or increases. Increase in prices can be expected only after the import stops. Due to increased buying, imported pea prices improved by Rs 50 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend became Mumbai Canada 3700/50 rupees Russia 3550 rupees and currency Canada 3550/3600 rupees and Russia 3475/3500 rupees per quintal. Due to weak selling and increased buying, Kanpur pea prices witnessed a rise of Rs. 50 per quintal this week and the price reached Rs. 3875/3900 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Lalitpur pea prices also witnessed a rise of Rs. 100/150 per quintal during the current week and with this increase, the price reached Rs. 3400/3600 per quintal at the weekend. Due to sluggish buying, Mahoba pea prices fell by Rs. 100 per quintal last week and remained at Rs. 3400/3500 per quintal at the weekend. Due to sporadic buying, Mauranipur pea prices improved by Rs. 25 per quintal this week and reached Rs. 3350/3475 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Damoh pea prices increased by Rs. 25 per quintal and reached Rs. 3600/3700 per quintal at the weekend.

Due to sluggish demand, there was no increase or decrease in the prices of peas dal during the current week and the prices remained stable at Kanpur Rs. 4250/4300 and Indore Rs. 4400/4500 per quintal at the end of the week.
