Peas prices fall due to lack of demand
Kanpur. Pea prices declined during the current week due to sluggish demand. Due to availability in the producing markets and ports, buying of peas remained calm, due to which there is pressure on prices. Due to increased selling pressure from importers and calm demand, imported peas prices declined by Rs 50/75 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained Mumbai Canada Rs 3650, Russia Rs 3550 and currency Canada Rs 3500/3525 and Russia Rs 3400 per quintal at the weekend. Due to weak demand, Kanpur peas prices declined by Rs 75 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained Rs 3650 per quintal at the weekend. Whereas no increase or decrease was seen in Lalitpur peas this week and the prices remained stable at Rs 3200/3425 per quintal at the weekend. Rath peas also saw a fall of Rs 50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 3100/3400 per quintal at the weekend. Due to weak buying, Mauranipur peas also fell by Rs 300 per quintal and remained at Rs 3200/3225 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Orai peas also saw a fall of Rs 50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 3250/3360 per quintal at the weekend. Due to the impact of all-round fall and weak buying, the prices of peas in Madhya Pradesh saw a decline of Rs 25/50 per quintal this week and the price remained at Rs 3300/3425 for Damoh and Rs 3150/3300 per quintal for Bina at the weekend.

Due to the fall in the price of peas and sluggish demand, prices of peas dal witnessed a fall of Rs. 200 per quintal during the current week and the prices remained at Rs. 3900/3950 in Kanpur and Rs. 4000/4200 per quintal in Indore at the end of the week.
