Limited fluctuations in sugar with normal trading
New Delhi. Although the free sale quota of sugar for the month of August is not very high, but the market is under pressure to a great extent because its demand is not increasing as expected.
Mill Delivery Price
During the week of 9th to 15th August, the mill delivery price of sugar remained soft by Rs. 5 in Uttar Pradesh, Rs. 30 in Punjab and Rs. 20 per quintal in Bihar, but in Gujarat it was up by Rs. 10-20 per quintal.
Spot Price
The spot market price of sugar improved by Rs. 20 to Rs. 4320/4420 per quintal in Delhi and also improved by Rs. 20 to Rs. 4270/4370 per quintal in Indore during the week under review.
Mumbai / Kolkata
On the other hand, its price remained stable at the lower level of Rs 4300/4350 per quintal in Raipur, Rs 4350/4440 per quintal in Kolkata and Rs 4010/4210 per quintal in Mumbai (Vashi). The port delivery price of sugar also remained stable at Rs 3960/4160 per quintal. There was a normal increase in the tender price of sugar in Maharashtra, while in Karnataka, an improvement of Rs 30 to 55 per quintal was recorded.
Demand / Supply / Availability
Industrial demand for sugar is seen to be weak while the festive demand is also not much. The supply and availability situation in the domestic sector remains smooth to a great extent, due to which an environment of stability is being seen with limited fluctuations in prices.

Stock

Rise forecast
By the way, a leading industry analyst has estimated the domestic market price of sugar to rise by Rs 100-150 per quintal during the festive season, which may increase the expenditure of the common man.
