Buying of Tuvar weak due to pressure of arrivals
It seems that Tuvar prices have been under pressure recently due to a combination of factors. Increased arrivals of the new crop and sluggish demand are major contributors, which are leading to a decline in prices. In particular, the extension of the duty-free import of Tuvar until March 2026 is continuing to weigh on the market. On the positive side, an expected increase in Tuvar production due to favorable weather conditions may help stabilize the market eventually. In different regions, the market behavior is quite varied. In places like Chennai, the prices of Tuvar Lemon have dropped, while in Burma, export demand has pushed prices up slightly. Some regions like Maharashtra and Delhi are seeing a mix of small increases and decreases, while Karnataka and Madhya Pradesh are experiencing price declines due to weak demand. Regarding Tuvar Dal, the prices have also declined, which aligns with the sluggish demand seen for raw Tuvar. With the market still in a state of flux, it will be interesting to see how things evolve, especially with the ongoing impact of imports and crop arrivals. Are you involved in the Tuvar market or tracking its movements for specific business purposes?
