Tuvar prices fall due to weak buying

  1. Tuvar Prices Decline Amid Weak Buying

    • Availability in producer markets & slow demand from stockists and dal millers weighed on prices.
    • Government procurement increased as prices fell below MSP in major producing states.
    • Pressure from importers' selling further contributed to the decline.
  2. Government Procurement & Stock Position

    • As of March 11, government procurement reached 1.31 lakh tonnes across Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Telangana.
  3. Port Prices (Import Market)

    • Mumbai Port:
      • Mozambique White: ₹7,200 – ₹7,250 per quintal (-₹100/150)
      • Gajari: ₹6,900 – ₹6,950 per quintal (-₹100/150)
      • Malawi: ₹6,800 – ₹6,900 per quintal (-₹100/150)
      • Dodoma: ₹6,750 – ₹6,800 per quintal (-₹100/150)
    • Chennai Tuvar Lemon: ₹6,850 – ₹6,900 per quintal (-₹100)
    • Burma Tuvar: Declined by $5 per ton, now at $800 per ton.
