Tuvar prices fall due to weak demand

Mumbai. Tuvar prices have seen a continuous decline during the current week. There is selling pressure in the market, while prices could not get any solid support due to sluggish demand. Buying from dal millers and stockists remained limited, due to which the market remained bearish. According to trade sources, there is no significant increase in wholesale demand, due to which the possibility of any solid improvement in the prices of tuvar in the near future also seems weak. Due to continuous arrival of imported goods and sluggish domestic demand, the tuvar market may remain under pressure for the time being. Due to increased selling by importers and weak demand, the price of tuvar lemon in Chennai declined by Rs 175 per quintal this week and with this decline, the price came down to Rs 6150/6200 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai African Tuvar also witnessed a decline of Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices remained at Mozambique White Rs. 6000, Gajari Rs. 5750/5800, Matwara Rs. 5700/5750, Malawi Rs. 5600 and Sudan Rs. 6450 per quintal at the end of the week.
Burma
Due to increased selling by exporters and weak buying, the prices of Burma Tuvar witnessed a decline of $20 per ton this week and with this decline, the prices remained at $710 per ton at the end of the week.
Delhi
Due to the impact of port decline and sluggish demand, during the current week, Delhi Tuvar Lemon witnessed a decline of Rs. 125 per quintal and Desi Tuvar also witnessed a decline of Rs. 125 per quintal and with this decline, the prices remained at Rs. 6675 for Lemon and Rs. 6850/6950 per quintal for Desi at the end of the week. Due to increase in selling and slow buying, prices of tuvar witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Solapur Rs. 5800/6800, Akola Rs. 6950, Nagpur Rs. 6900 and Dudhni Rs. 6300/6850 per quintal.
Karnataka
Due to increase in selling and slow buying, prices of tuvar in Karnataka witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices remained at Gulbarga Rs. 6500/6919, Raichur Rs. 5998/6561, Bidar Rs. 5600/6839, Yadgir Rs. 6055/6689 and Talikot Rs. 5000/6509 per quintal during the weekend. Due to weak buying by dal millers, Madhya Pradesh tuvar prices fell by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and with this fall, the prices remained at Katni Rs. 6800/7000, Jabalpur Rs. 5000/6400 and Pipariya Rs. 5200/6500 per quintal at the weekend.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round fall and weak buying, Raipur tuvar prices fell by Rs. 100 per quintal this week and the prices remained at Rs. 6800/7000 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Kanpur tuvar prices fell by Rs. 50 per quintal this week and the prices remained at Rs. 6700/6750 per quintal at the weekend.
Tuvar Dal
Due to the impact of fall in Tuvar prices and weak demand, Tuvar Dal prices have fallen by Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the weekend prices have become Delhi Fatka Rs. 9925/10325, Katni Fatka Rs. 9200/9750, Akola Rs. 9400/10800, Latur Fatka Rs. 10300/10500, Gulbarga Fatka Rs. 9600/10400 and Kanpur Fatka Rs. 10700/10800 per quintal.
