Urad prices fall due to weak demand
Chennai. Urad prices have fallen during the current week due to increased selling pressure and weak buying. Urad prices are under pressure due to the low demand from South's dal millers. Rising prices are not getting support due to lack of demand for Urad dal. Chennai Urad has seen a fall of Rs 50/100 per quintal this week due to continued selling by importers and weak buying and the prices remained at Rs 8175 per quintal for FAQ and Rs 9000 per quintal at the weekend. Similarly, Mumbai Urad also fell by Rs 50 per quintal this week and remained at Rs 8450 per quintal at the weekend.
Burma
Due to sluggish export demand, Burma Urad FAQ declined by $ 5 and SQ by $ 5 per tonne during the current week and the price remained at $ 985 per tonne for FAQ and $ 1080 per tonne at the weekend.
Delhi
Due to the impact of port decline and weak buying by dal millers, Delhi Urad FAQ declined by Rs 100 and SQ by Rs 50 per quintal during the current week and the price remained at Rs 8525 per quintal for FAQ and Rs 9400 per quintal at the weekend.
Madhya Pradesh
Due to increased availability and sluggish buying by pulses millers, prices of Madhya Pradesh urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline the prices at the weekend remained at Ashoknagar Rs. 5000/7500, Jabalpur Rs. 6000/8400, Kareli Rs. 5650/8400, Damoh Rs. 5000/7200 and Indore Rs. 7500/8000 per quintal.
Maharashtra
Due to increased selling and weak buying, Maharashtra urad prices registered a decline of Rs. 200/400 per quintal this week and with this decline, the prices at the weekend remained at Akola Rs. 8800, Latur Rs. 4500/7600, Solapur Rs. 6100/8150, Dudhni Rs. 5500/8400, Akkalkot Rs. 6000/8200 and Ahmednagar Rs. 6000/7500 per quintal.
Others
Due to the impact of all-round decline and weak buying, Andhra Pradesh's Krishna District urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 50 and Vijayawada urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 50 per quintal this week and the prices at the weekend remained at Krishna District Rs. 9050 and Vijayawada Rs. 9050 per quintal.
Urad Dal
Due to weak demand, the prices of Urad Dal witnessed a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the prices at the weekend remained at Delhi Rs. 10750/11600, Bhatapara Rs. 10800, Jalgaon Rs. 11600, Meerut Rs. 9900/10200 and Indore Rs. 10500/12000 per quintal.
