Decline in prices of Urad due to sluggish demand

Chennai. Due to lack of demand, prices of Urad declined during the current week. Due to non-existent demand for Urad dal, demand from dal millers has remained sluggish. Due to which, there is pressure on prices of Urad. Arrival of new Urad has started increasing in the producing markets of Maharashtra. Due to increased selling pressure from importers, Chennai Urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 75/150 per quintal this week and the price at weekend was Rs. 8150 for FAQ and Rs. 8700 for SQ per quintal. Similarly, Mumbai Urad also declined by Rs. 200 per quintal this week and remained at Rs. 8300 per quintal at weekend.

Burma

Due to increased selling by exporters and weak buying, Burma Urad FAQ declined by $ 35 and SQ by $ 35 per tonne during the current week and the price remained at $ 925 per FAQ and $ 1015 per SQ at the weekend.

Delhi

Due to the impact of the decline in port and weak demand from dal millers, Delhi Urad FAQ declined by Rs 50 and SQ by Rs 50 per quintal during the current week and the price remained at Rs 8700 per FAQ and Rs 9100 per quintal at the weekend.

Madhya Pradesh

Due to weak buying, prices of Madhya Pradesh urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this decline, the prices at the weekend remained at Ashoknagar Rs. 6000/7500, Ganjbasoda Rs. 6000/8500, Jabalpur Rs. 7500/8600, Kareli Rs. 6000/8500, Damoh Rs. 8000/8400 and Indore Rs. 8000/8500 per quintal.

Maharashtra

Due to sluggish buying, prices of Maharashtra urad witnessed a decline of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and the prices at the weekend remained at Akola Rs. 9000, Latur Rs. 8000/8200, Barshi Rs. 6500/8000 and Ahmednagar Rs. 6500/7500 per quintal.

Others

Due to the sluggish demand of dal millers, this week, the price of Krishna district urad in Andhra Pradesh saw a fall of Rs. 100 and Vijayawada urad also saw a fall of Rs. 100 per quintal and the price remained at Rs. 8650 for Krishna district and Rs. 8700/8800 per quintal for Vijayawada at the weekend. Similarly, Raipur urad also fell by Rs. 300 this week and remained at Rs. 8700/8800 per quintal at the weekend.

Urad dal

Due to the impact of the fall in urad and weak demand, the price of urad dal saw a fall of Rs. 100/200 per quintal during the current week and with this fall, the price remained at Rs. 10450/11350 for Delhi, Rs. 11200 for Bhatapara, Rs. 11800 for Jalgaon, Rs. 10200/10500 for Meerut and Rs. 10000/12300 per quintal at Indore.
