Wheat prices soften due to low demand compared to good supply
New Delhi. The supply and availability of wheat in the domestic markets has remained smooth to a great extent and the millers / processors are not showing much haste in its purchase. Meanwhile, the Central Government has indicated to start the sale of wheat from its stock under the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS) and has also fixed its minimum reserve price at Rs 2550 per quintal. This is likely to put some psychological pressure on the market. It is believed that there will not be a sharp rise or fall in the price of wheat in the near future and the market may keep moving within a certain range.
Delhi
During the week of July 5-11, the price of wheat in Delhi improved by Rs 10 to Rs 2745/2750 per quintal, but its price remained weak in the markets of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. In Dewas, it fell by Rs 100 to Rs 2450/3000 per quintal, in Dabra it fell by Rs 50 to Rs 2530/2570 per quintal. In Itarsi, it fell by Rs 40 to Rs 2485/2500 per quintal.
Rajasthan

Uttar Pradesh
In the markets of Uttar Pradesh, during the week under review, an improvement of 10 to 30 rupees per quintal was generally recorded, but in Gonda it increased by Rs 55 to reach Rs 2530 per quintal. A rise of Rs 50 was also recorded in Jalna Mandi of Maharashtra.
Arrival
At the beginning of the week, 10 thousand sacks of wheat arrived in Delhi which fluctuated and eventually came down to 8 thousand sacks. Good arrivals are also being received in the mandis of Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.
Stock limit
The same is the situation in some mandis of Uttar Pradesh. It seems that due to the implementation of storage limit, traders are facing a lot of difficulty in stocking and trading of wheat.
