15-Nov-2025 08:09 PM
Eased supply led to a decline in wheat prices in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh.
New Delhi. Eased supply and availability, combined with limited demand from millers and processors, led to a decline in wheat prices across markets, particularly in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, during the week of November 8-14, but remained firm or stable in Madhya Pradesh.
Export
The central government is considering allowing the export of wheat value-added products, while the Food Corporation of India has initiated the process of selling wheat from its stock under the Open Market Sale Scheme (OMSS). The industry and trade sector wants the storage limits on wheat lifted.
Price
During the week under review, wheat prices fell by ₹45 to ₹2800/2825 per quintal in Delhi and ₹30 to ₹2450/2520 per quintal in Itarsi, Madhya Pradesh. Although wheat prices rose by ₹50 and ₹100 per quintal in Ujjain and Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh, respectively, other markets, including Indore and Dewas, remained stable.
Rajasthan
Wheat prices rose by ₹50 to ₹2475/₹2650 per quintal in Kota, Rajasthan, but fell by ₹30 to ₹2440/₹2540 per quintal in Bundi. Wheat prices remained soft in most markets in Uttar Pradesh, with declines ranging from ₹10 to ₹50 per quintal. Millers/processors from Uttar Pradesh purchased a significant quantity of wheat during the e-auction conducted by the Food Corporation of India on November 12.
Arrivals
Wheat is in good supply in various markets. During the week of November 8-14, between 5,000 and 8,000 bags of wheat arrived daily in Delhi. Normal arrivals were also recorded in markets like Indore, Dewas, Ujjain, Gwalior, Kota, Bundi, and Rajkot.
Sowing
Sowing of this most important food grain of the Rabi season continues vigorously, with acreage exceeding last year's. Consequently, a robust wheat production is expected again in the 2025-26 season.
