Kandla. In light of the recent rise in fuel prices, the Kandla-Mundra Container Transport Welfare Association has implemented a temporary 20% increase in transport charges, effective today—March 24, 2026. A trade circular issued by the Association states that, due to the ongoing conflict in West Asia, the supply, availability, and retail sale of diesel at petrol pumps have become restricted. Consequently, operating trucks, tractors, and trolleys in a normal manner has become challenging. The government has raised the price of industrial diesel to ₹112 per liter. The prices of finished goods and spare parts have also increased by 3–4%. In view of these factors, the decision to raise transport charges by 20% has been taken. This hike will be revoked as soon as normal conditions are restored.
