★भारत में चीनी उत्पादन में बढ़ोतरी, एथेनॉल डायवर्जन घटा: NFCSF
★NFCSF के ताजा आंकड़ों के अनुसार, भारत के चीनी सीजन 2025–26 में उत्पादन और गन्ना पेराई में उल्लेखनीय बढ़ोतरी दर्ज की गई है, जबकि एथेनॉल के लिए डायवर्जन में कमी देखी गई है।
★देश में कुल चीनी उत्पादन 271.20 लाख टन पहुंच गया है, जो पिछले वर्ष के 248.65 लाख टन से अधिक है। वहीं, गन्ना पेराई बढ़कर 2835.39 लाख टन हो गई है। औसत रिकवरी भी सुधरकर 9.56% हो गई है, जो पिछले साल 9.37% थी।
★राज्यवार आंकड़ों में महाराष्ट्र ने सबसे अधिक वृद्धि दर्ज की है, जहां उत्पादन 80.10 लाख टन से बढ़कर 98.95 लाख टन हो गया। उत्तर प्रदेश का उत्पादन लगभग स्थिर रहा और 87.45 लाख टन पर रहा, जबकि कर्नाटक में उत्पादन ★बढ़कर 46.75 लाख टन हो गया। अन्य राज्यों में उत्पादन घटकर 38.05 लाख टन रह गया।
★इस सीजन में 541 मिलें संचालित हुईं, जो पिछले साल 533 थीं। हालांकि, वर्तमान में केवल 74 मिलें ही पेराई कर रही हैं, जबकि 467 मिलें बंद हो चुकी हैं।
★एथेनॉल के लिए गन्ने के उपयोग में कमी आई है। 15 मार्च 2026 तक 19.50 लाख टन चीनी एथेनॉल के लिए डायवर्ट की गई, जो पिछले वर्ष के 23 लाख टन से कम है।
★सरकार ने अप्रैल 2026 तक के लिए 156 लाख टन का घरेलू चीनी कोटा जारी किया है, जो पिछले वर्ष के 161 लाख टन से थोड़ा कम है।
★उत्पादन में बढ़ोतरी से बाजार में आपूर्ति मजबूत बनी रहेगी, हालांकि एथेनॉल डायवर्जन में कमी से चीनी की उपलब्धता और बढ़ सकती है।

★Sugar Production Rises in India, Ethanol Diversion Declines: NFCSF
★According to the latest data released by NFCSF, India’s sugar season 2025–26 has recorded a significant increase in production and cane crushing, while diversion towards ethanol has declined.
★Total sugar production in the country has reached 271.20 LMT, higher than 248.65 LMT last year. Sugarcane crushing has also increased to 2835.39 LMT. The average recovery improved to 9.56%, compared to 9.37% in the previous season.
★State-wise, Maharashtra recorded the highest growth, with production rising from 80.10 LMT to 98.95 LMT. Uttar Pradesh remained largely stable at 87.45 LMT, compared to 87.70 LMT last year, while Karnataka saw an increase to 46.75 LMT from 39.90 LMT. Production in other states declined to 38.05 LMT from 40.95 LMT.
★A total of 541 mills operated during the season, compared to 533 last year. Currently, only 74 mills are still crushing, while 467 mills have closed operations.
★Diversion of sugar for ethanol has declined, with 19.50 LMT diverted as of March 15, 2026, compared to 23 LMT last year.
★The government has notified a domestic sugar quota of 156 LMT till April 2026, slightly lower than 161 LMT last year.
★Higher production is expected to keep market supplies comfortable, while lower ethanol diversion may further increase sugar availability in the domestic market.
