★ Govt source: No need for aggressive intervention; unlikely to buy chana at market prices

★ The government is not in favor of using the Price Stabilisation Fund to procure chana at market prices and will continue purchasing only at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) till the end of June.

★ A senior government official said that after extending the import duty waiver on yellow peas till March 31, the government expects chana procurement to pick up in the coming weeks.

★ Upto 2.97 lakh tons has been procured by agnecies.
