Chana Procurement Update

★ The government may close the chana procurement operations at 350,000 tonnes for the rabi marketing season 2025-26 (April–March).

★ This is only 12.5% of the total sanctioned quantity of 2.8 million tonnes.

★ As of Monday, around 297,000 tonnes of chana have been procured.

★ The procurement operations are likely to continue till the end of June.

★ Government procurement was affected as mandi prices remained close to the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
