The Haryana government has assured farmers of compensation for the damage caused to Rabi crops due to unseasonal heavy rains and hailstorms.
Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has confirmed that the farmers in affected areas can soon claim compensation through the e-compensation portal, which is expected to offer relief.
The recent rainfall has been beneficial for many Rabi crops in Haryana, particularly wheat and mustard, but the combination of hailstorm and heavy rainfall has caused significant damage in certain districts.
Farmers in these areas have expressed concern over the destruction, especially for mustard crops, which are expected to suffer the most.
The damage has been reported across several districts, including Hisar, Fatehabad, Jind, Bhiwani, Rohtak, Rewari, Sirsa, and Jhajjar. In addition to mustard, pulses, oilseeds, and vegetables have also been affected.
The Chief Minister assured the farming community that the government is committed to standing by them during this challenging time, and the e-compensation portal will be opened soon to facilitate compensation claims.
The government's swift response and assurance are aimed at helping the farmers recover from this unexpected natural disaster during the critical Rabi season.
