Commitment of Traders data showed that spec funds added 24,923 contracts to their net long position in the week ending April 21, taking the total net long to 184,406 contracts.
Export Sales data indicated that corn export commitments reached 74.1 MMT as of April 16, which is 28% higher than the same time last year. This represents 88% of the USDA’s export projection, slightly behind the 92% average pace.
A South Korean importer purchased 67,000 MT of corn in a private deal, following another purchase of 134,000 MT by a different importer on Thursday.
