On Tuesday, ICE cotton futures were steady to 7 points lower across most contracts. Crude oil futures fell 73 cents on the day to $58.59 per barrel, while the US dollar index was down $0.102 to 99.260.
Commitment of Traders data showed managed money trimming 98 contracts from their previous record net short position as of October 21, bringing it to 81,245 contracts.
In the December 1 online auction from The Seam, 6,106 bales were sold at an average price of 60.03 cents/lb. The Cotlook A Index rose 10 points on Monday to 75.05 cents. ICE certified cotton stocks dropped by 450 bales on December 1, bringing total certified stocks to 19,894 bales. The Adjusted World Price was updated last week to 50.77 cents/lb, down 3 points from the previous week.
