Edible Oil Prices Plummet: Mustard, Groundnut & Soybean Turn Cheaper
★ Sharp Decline in Edible Oil Prices in India: Mustard, Groundnut, and Soybean Oils Turn Cheaper.
★ A significant drop in edible oil prices was observed last week in India.
★ Wholesale prices of major edible oils such as mustard, groundnut, soybean, crude palm oil (CPO), palmolein, and cottonseed oil saw notable declines.
★ This price fall was primarily driven by a softening trend in global crude palm oil (CPO) markets.
★ Two weeks ago, CPO prices were in the range of $1,200–$1,205 per tonne, which fell to $1,160–$1,165 per tonne last week.
★ Additionally, the price gap between palm oil and soybean oil has narrowed from $100 to around $60, further weakening market sentiment.
