Good Inflow of Basmati Paddy Continues in Rohtak Market

Rohtak. Haryana, one of the leading producers of Basmati paddy, is witnessing strong arrivals of this premium-quality crop in its mandis, and millers, processors, as well as exporters are showing active interest in purchasing it. In the Rohtak mandi, the supply of Basmati paddy has now reached its final phase, with an average daily arrival of around 6,000 bags (quintals). On 7 December, arrivals were recorded at around 7,500 bags.

According to official data, during the current Kharif marketing season, a total of 918,603 quintals of Basmati paddy have arrived in Rohtak’s new grain market, out of which 917,726 quintals have already been purchased, and 893,706 quintals have been lifted.

In the Kalanaur mandi, arrivals reached 168,615 quintals, of which 163,221 quintals have been purchased. Out of this purchased stock, 116,456 quintals have been lifted, while 5,394 quintals of Basmati paddy remain unsold.

Commission agents say that given the current supply and purchasing activity, the procurement process for Basmati paddy may be completed within the next 10–12 days. Compared to previous years, higher arrivals of Basmati paddy have been recorded in the local mandi this year, along with an increased supply of PR paddy as well.
