New Delhi. The arrival of the new autumn-season ajwain crop has started in Jamnagar market, a major producing region in Gujarat. The price of the new crop is being quoted between ₹2,350 and ₹3,400 per 20 kg, depending on quality. The arrival volume of the new crop was around 75–80 bags.

In comparison, the arrival of old stock was 650–700 bags, and prices ranged between ₹1,715 and ₹3,430 per 20 kg.

According to market experts, there is currently little likelihood of a major price decline. This is because farmers allocated more acreage to groundnut cultivation this year, resulting in ajwain acreage being 25–30% lower than last year. Consequently, production is also expected to remain below last year’s levels.
