Haryana to Begin Government Groundnut and Millet Procurement from October 1

Chandigarh. The Haryana government has decided to start the procurement of groundnut and millet produced during the current Kharif season from farmers at the minimum support price from October 1 and has started the necessary preparations for this.
It is known that this time the Central Government has increased the minimum support price of millet by Rs 150 from last year to Rs 2775 per quintal and the support price of groundnut by Rs 480 to Rs 7263 per quintal.
Issuing clear instructions to start government procurement of groundnut and millet from October 1, 2025 in Fatehabad district of the state, the Deputy Commissioner has asked the ADC to keep an eye on the entire activities while the concerned SDM has been assigned the responsibility of nodal officer in his area. Three procurement centers are being set up in Fatehabad, Peeli Mandori and Bhattu for the purchase of millet in Fatehabad district.
Apart from this, farmers will also get an opportunity to sell their produce in Narnaul, Nangal Chaudhary, Ateli, Mahendra Garh, Satnali and Kanina.
But to sell their produce at the minimum support price (MSP), farmers will have to register themselves on the 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora' portal. Products will be purchased only from registered farmers.
Strict arrangements are being made to provide all basic facilities to farmers at government purchase centers, which include electricity, water and toilet facilities,
moisture measuring machine, security arrangements and hoardings containing details of purchase criteria etc. Millet is cultivated on a large scale in Fatehabad and its surrounding districts.
