Rain is expected to continue across most of the Corn Belt next week, although lighter rainfall is forecast for Michigan, Nebraska, Missouri, and the Southern Plains.
According to USDA’s NASS weekly Crop Progress report, as of July 20, 56% of the U.S. corn crop had reached the silking stage, which is 2 percentage points behind the 5-year average. Around 14% of the crop was in the dough stage, slightly ahead of the 12% average. Crop condition remained unchanged, with 74% rated good to excellent and a Brugler500 index score of 385.
Iowa continued to show the best crop conditions, while Michigan had the poorest ratings among major acreage states.
ANEC has estimated Brazil’s corn exports for July at 4.14 million metric tons, down from the previous week’s estimate of 4.6 MMT.
