USDA this morning reported a private export sale of 102,870 metric tons of corn to Mexico for new crop shipment. In addition, 140,000 metric tons of corn were reported sold to South Korea, entirely for the 2025/26 marketing year.
According to CFTC data this afternoon, as of July 22, managed money added 2,610 contracts to their net short position, bringing it to 177,365 contracts.
Weekly export sales data shows total corn export commitments at 70.110 million metric tons, which is higher than USDA’s full-year estimate and equal to 102% of the average pace for this time of year. So far, 60.172 million metric tons have been shipped, which is 86% of USDA’s estimate and behind the 89% average pace.
