According to the EIA data released this morning, U.S. ethanol production for the week ending May 30 surged to 1.105 million barrels per day—matching the highs seen in mid-March. This marks an increase of 49,000 barrels per day compared to the previous week. Ethanol stocks rose slightly by 159,000 barrels, reaching a total of 24.44 million barrels.
During the same week, ethanol blending by refiners declined by 37,000 barrels per day to 902,000 barrels per day. Meanwhile, ethanol exports jumped by 84,000 barrels per day to 150,000 barrels per day, an eight-week high.
Export sales data, scheduled for release on Thursday, is expected to show corn sales for the old crop year ranging between 775,000 and 1.4 million metric tons. For the new crop year, expectations range from 20,000 to 250,000 metric tons.
Brazil’s grain exporters association ANEC estimates corn exports for June at 835,660 tons, lower than the 982,812 tons recorded in the same month last year.
