International Cotton Markets
The international cotton market showed little change on Monday, with ICE cotton futures closing flat, experiencing minor declines between 10 and 31 points. The external markets provided a mixed backdrop, with the US dollar index down by 124 points, and crude oil prices slipping by 65 cents per barrel.
On December 13, Seum reported 5,661 bales of cotton sold online, averaging 63.45 cents per pound. ICE cotton stocks remained steady, and certified stocks were recorded at 20,113 bales. The Kotlook A Index held steady at 80.25 cents per pound on December 13. Additionally, the USDA's adjusted world price (AWP) dropped 152 points, settling at 56.22 cents per pound on Thursday.
