International Maize Market
★ In the U.S., 425 million bushels of corn were used for ethanol production in April, which is 6% lower than March but 1% higher than April 2024.
★ Ethanol production in the U.S. has increased overall during the current season.
★ In the week ending May 29, the U.S. is expected to export 1.576 million tonnes of corn — 11.26% more than the previous week and 11% higher than the same week last year.
★ Major buyers included:
Mexico: 0.415 million tonnes
Japan: 0.388 million tonnes
South Korea: 0.263 million tonnes
★ Total exports for the current season have reached 48.58 million tonnes, which is 28% higher than the same period last year.
★ Brazil’s AgRural agency has raised its corn production estimate by 3.7 million tonnes to 128.5 million tonnes.
★ Second corn crop sowing in Brazil has reached 1.3%.
★ StoneX agency has increased its corn production estimate by 1.6 million tonnes to 134 million tonnes.

Domestic Maize Market (India)
★ Maize prices have been declining for the past month.
In Delhi, maize billing price fell from ₹2,425 on May 1 to ₹2,300 on June 2.
In Bhusawal Mandi, prices dropped from ₹2,230 to ₹2,200.
In Gulabbagh, prices declined from ₹2,230 to ₹2,220.
★ Maize arrivals are currently active in Bihar.
★ In some areas, crops were affected by rain, but increased acreage helped compensate, limiting the impact on overall production.
★ I-Grain India had been advising profit-booking in maize for the past two months.
★ For the upcoming kharif season, maize acreage is expected to increase in Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Uttar Pradesh.
★ Due to rising domestic demand, maize production has increased.
★ Prices are expected to remain stable at current levels until the arrival of the new kharif crop.
