According to USDA’s Monday afternoon Crop Progress report, 62% of the U.S. soybean crop is blooming, while 26% has started setting pods. Crop conditions declined by 2% compared to the previous week, with 68% rated good to excellent. The Brugler500 index also fell by 2 points to 373.
Iowa showed the strongest crop conditions with 80% rated good/excellent, while states east of the Mississippi River remained at or below 60%. The largest weekly declines were seen in North Dakota and Kansas, while Ohio and South Dakota saw the most improvement.
Brazil’s soybean exports for July are estimated at 12.11 million metric tons, slightly down from last week’s estimate of 12.19 MMT.
