USDA this morning reported a private export sale of 142,500 metric tons of soybeans to Mexico for new crop shipment.
By the end of July, 1 to 2 inches of rainfall is expected across most of the Eastern Corn Belt from the Northern Plains over the next week.
Weekly Commitment of Traders data shows that as of July 22, managed money reduced their net short position in soybean futures and options by 21,412 contracts, taking the net position down to 10,886 contracts as of Tuesday.
Thursday’s export sales report showed total marketing-year commitments, including shipped and unshipped sales, at 50.809 million metric tons, slightly above USDA’s export projection. According to FAS data, shipments have reached 46.831 million metric tons, which is 92% of the estimate and behind the 93% average pace.
