Under President Trump's "Liberation Day" tariffs, China will face a 34% countervailing tariff (bringing the total to 54% including previously imposed tariffs), while the European Union (EU) will be subjected to a 20% tariff. These tariffs will take effect on April 9.
This morning, the USDA reported a private export sale of 135,000 metric tons of soybean meal to the Philippines for 2024/25 shipment.
The weekly Export Sales data will be released on Thursday morning. Traders expect old crop soybean sales for the week ending March 27 to range between 250,000 and 800,000 metric tons (MT). New crop sales are estimated between 0 and 50,000 metric tons. Soybean meal sales are projected between 100,000 and 300,000 metric tons, while soybean oil sales are expected to be between 5,000 and 40,000 metric tons.
