As of April 13, 2% of U.S. soybean acreage had been planted, matching the 5-year average. Some fringe states — Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee — were ahead of the average pace, with Missouri 3 percentage points above normal. All other states were at or below normal levels.
According to NOPA (National Oilseed Processors Association), 194.55 million bushels of soybeans were crushed in March — a sharp 9.38% increase from the previous month but 0.94% lower than last year. Soybean oil stocks totaled 1.498 billion pounds, down 19.07% from last year and 0.34% lower than the end of February.
