International Soybean Market
A Bloomberg survey shows traders expect an increase of 3 million bushels in the old crop US soybean carryout to 353 million bushels. For the new crop figure, analysts look for a slight rise to 298 million bushels.
USDA’s Weekly Crop Progress data showed planting in Indiana down 1%, Kentucky down 5%, Michigan down 1%, Mississippi down 5%, Nebraska down 1%, and Ohio down 2% compared to their respective averages. Nationwide, soybean conditions improved by 1% to 69% good to excellent, while the Brugler500 index was up 2 points to 372. By state, decreases were noted in Indiana down 3, Kansas down 10, Nebraska down 4, and Minnesota down 1, while improvements came in Illinois up 1, Mississippi up 13, South Dakota up 9, and Missouri, North Dakota, and Ohio each up 8 points.
US and China trade talks continued today in London, with Commerce Secretary Lutnick stating the discussions went very well. Brazil’s ANEC estimates June soybean exports at 14.08 million metric tons, up 1.53 million metric tons from their previous estimate last week.
