Domestic Wheat Market
★ After the recent decline, wheat prices in the domestic market are now showing stability. A total of 3 MMT has been allocated for the OMSS scheme, though its launch date is still uncertain.
★ Until the market strengthens, the likelihood of the OMSS scheme being introduced remains low.
★ With MSP raised by 6%, it is clear the government aims to boost wheat production.
★ Despite the festive season nearing its end, demand for flour, maida, and sooji remains very weak, which has kept prices stable for a long time.
★ FCI has fixed the reserve price for OMSS at Rs. 2,550 per quintal, excluding freight charges, while MSP has been declared at Rs. 2,585 per quintal.
★ If weather remains favorable, wheat production could once again reach record levels in the upcoming season.
★ Looking ahead, IGrain India expects that maximum wheat prices in Delhi could reach Rs. 2,900 per quintal.
