Isabgol – No Fear of a Decline

New Delhi. Currently, isabgol prices are being quoted with a firm undertone. Reports indicate that sowing in Rajasthan, the major producing state, is only about 50% of last year’s acreage, which has pushed prices higher by ₹10–15 per kg. At present, isabgol prices in the markets have increased to ₹110–132 per kg, compared with ₹98–115 per kg in November.

Sources say that prolonged rains in producing regions delayed the sowing of isabgol, which means the arrival of the new crop will begin in April, whereas normally arrivals start in March. According to market participants, prices may rise by an additional ₹5–10 per kg in the coming days.
