Maize Market Update
★ In the US, maize planting has reached 94% as of Sunday, slightly above the 5-year average.
★ Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry has estimated maize production at 26 million tonnes, whereas the USDA had projected 30.5 million tonnes.
★ Globally, maize usage in ethanol production is gradually increasing, with India also contributing to this trend.
★ In India, maize usage for ethanol has grown by 40–50% over the past three years.
★ Usage is expected to remain high in the coming year as well, which will continue to support domestic market prices from time to time.
★ According to IGrain India, maize prices may stabilize after a further decline. Until the arrival of the new crop, prices are expected to remain steady or show a slight increase.
