★ पंजाब के गोदामों में जगह की कमी 5 दिनों में नया खरीफ सीजन शुरू होने वाला है।
★ 1 अक्टूबर से पंजाब एवं अन्य राज्यों में धान की सरकारी खरीद शुरू की जाएगी।
★ पंजाब की एजेंसियों के पास 175 लाख टन खाद्यान्नों का स्टॉक उपलब्ध जबकि FCI के पास 57 लाख टन गेहूं व 119 लाख टन चावल उपलब्ध, 7 लाख टन धान जिससे 4.66 लाख टन चावल बनेगा सो अलग।
★ पंजाब के पास 212 लाख टन स्टॉक की जगह उपलब्ध जिसमें से 165 लाख टन कवर्ड एरिया व 40 लाख टन कवर्ड एरिया प्लिंथ।
★ पंजाब में धान की बिजाई चालू सीजन में 32.2 लाख पहुंची जो गत वर्ष 31.8 लाख थी। चालू सीजन में खरीद लक्ष्य 185 लाख टन रखा गया।
★ बम्पर उत्पादन आता देख बढ़ सकती है खरीद के दौरान कठिनाई।

पाकिस्तान चावल निर्यातकों को लग सकता है झटका
★ यूरोपियन यूनियन देश GI टैग कर सकते हैं कैंसिल।
★ सबसे पहले इटली ने जारी किया था नोटिफिकेशन जिसे बुल्गेरिया, रोमानिया व ग्रीस ने सपोर्ट किया।
★ अप्रैल 2023 से मार्च 2024 तक पाकिस्तान द्वारा 7.4 लाख टन बासमती चावल का किया था निर्यात। जबकि इसी अवधि के दौरान भारत से रहा 52 .लाख टन।
★ 2023-24 में यूरोपियन देशों को 1.64 लाख टन बासमती चावल किया गया था निर्यात।
★ अप्रैल से जून तक पाकिस्तान से 47,776 टन चावल यूरोपियन यूनियन देशों, नीदरलैंड, जर्मनी व इटली को किया निर्यात।

★ Paddy sowing in Punjab reached 32.2 lakh in the current season as against 31.8 lakh last year. The procurement target for the current season has been set at 185 lakh tonne.
★ Difficulty during procurement may increase due to bumper production.

★ Pakistan rice exporters may get a shock.
★ European Union countries can cancel GI tag.
★ Italy was the first to issue a notification which was supported by Bulgaria, Romania and Greece.
★ From April 2023 to March 2024, Pakistan exported 7.4 lakh tonnes of Basmati rice. Whereas during the same period, India exported 52 lakh tonnes.
★ In 2023-24, 1.64 lakh tonnes of Basmati rice was exported to European countries.
★ From April to June, 47,776 tonnes of rice was exported from Pakistan to European Union countries, Netherlands, Germany and Italy.
