News Capsule: Brazil: Urad production may decline next year
★ Urad production is likely to fall in the upcoming season due to low market prices. Producers say that when cultivation began, prices were attractive and farmers were earning good profits, but later the international market weakened, leading to a drop in prices. Currently, farmers are receiving almost half of what they used to get earlier.
★ Due to reduced profitability, farmers are shifting away from this crop.
★ It is estimated that production of urad (black matpe) and moong may decline in the first quarter of 2026.
