News Capsule: Maharashtra: Status of Sugarcane Dues Payment
★ Sugar mills in Maharashtra have paid ₹70.26 billion to sugarcane farmers as Fair and Remunerative Price (FRP) up to December 15, 2025. This accounts for nearly 73% of the total dues, according to data from the Sugar Commissionerate.
★ An official from the commissionerate said that the pace of cane payments is broadly in line with the early-season trend, as crushing operations began only in November.
